CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The City of Clarksville and the Clarksville Transit System (CTS) unveiled their “101st Airborne Division Tribute Bus” Wednesday, December 4. The bus was designed and the project was handled by Signs Now in Clarksville.

The bus features numerous outlines of Soldiers and drawings of the traditional Screaming Eagle logo as well as outlines of helicopters symbolizing the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). Transit System Director Jimmy Smith said the bus will take to the streets Monday, December 9 and will travel all of the CTS bus routes.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan was on hand for the unveiling and shared her feelings about the relationship between the city and Fort Campbell. “This is something that I know is special to me and everybody else here and that is for the whole city to be able to pay tribute to our partners in everything we do and that’s the 101st Screaming Eagles,” said McMillan.

The Senior Commander of the 101st Airborne Division and Fort Campbell, Brigadier General Mark Stammer said the bus was a great symbol of the relationship between Clarksville and Fort Campbell. “I want to thank you very much for paying tribute to our Soldiers, paying tribute to our installation and really paying tribute to the relationship that we all have,” Stammer said.

Some of the local businesses that helped to make the bus a reality were USAA, Straight Line Fencing, Screaming Eagle Ready-Mix, the Clarksville Transit System, Clarksville gas and Water Department, Clarksville Department of Electricity and the Clarksville Mayor’s Office.
