CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville community is coming together to provide necessary supplies and donations for the victims of this week’s wildfires in East Tennessee.
Sevier County, which includes the tourist towns of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, has been devastated by these fires. The citizens of Clarksville hope to provide some relief and aid to those who have been displaced or injured.
Chris Ireland, a Clarksville resident and firefighter, decided to organize a large-scale donation drive to deliver supplies to those in need.
“A lot of folks have lost everything they own,” Ireland said. “I wanted to see what we as a community could do to help out.”
Donated items will be loaded onto a semi-truck provided by Jones Brothers Towing.

Kroger, Red Cross offer aid to those affected by Smoky Mountain fires
Clarksville Athletic Club is hosting a donation drive. The business hopes to load 10 semi-trucks by Dec. 3 to take to Gatlinburg. Supplies can be dropped off at 220 Athletic Avenue by Friday at 6 p.m.
Pet Food Center is partnering with “Bikers Who Care” to send relief to victims of the fire that recently devastated Gatlinburg.
Pet Food Center will be sending over $2,000 of dog food and supplies for the pets of families affected by the blaze. In addition, Pet Food Center is accepting donations at its Clarksville location for any pet-related supplies and food. “New or used dog cages are greatly needed in Gatlinburg, but any donation is appreciated and will be promptly sent to those in need,” said Pet Food Center’s Mike Stepto.
Pet Food Center is located at 2243 West Lowes Drive, Suite E which is at the corner of Trenton and the 101st Airborne Division Parkway.
Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity is also accepting donations through Dec. 9. After donations are collected, the brothers will travel to East TN to distribute them as needed.
Donations can be dropped off at the fraternity house at 218 South 7th Street from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Needs: Basic Toiletries, wool socks, gloves, hand warmers, high calorie snacks, protein bars.

CrossFit Conversion and CrossFit Dunbar Cave Lab will host a fundraiser workout for the families affected by the wildfires in Gatlinburg. There is a $5 or 2 item buy-in to participate. Donations will be accepted by those not wanting to perform the workout, as well. All proceeds will go to the Tennessee Red Cross and all items will be packaged and shipped to the affected areas.
When: Sunday, December 4 starting at noon (first heat) until we’re finished.
