CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A mother was arrested after allegedly leaving her child alone in a vehicle in the presence of drugs and paraphernalia.

According to an arrest warrant, police were called to the Dollar General on Ft. Campbell Blvd. Dec. 11. A vehicle belonging to 24-year-old Christina Pace was left running in the parking lot.

Police discovered Pace’s 1-year-old son unattended in the backseat.

Pace came outside about five minutes after the officer arrived, but the store clerk said Pace had been inside shopping for approximately 10 minutes.

Pace consented to a search of her vehicle and the officer found marijuana, rolling papers, and needles inside one of her purses. The other purse contained liquid methamphetamine and police also found a rubber tourniquet, baggies with white residue, and a small digital scale in the vehicle.

Another needle was found in a small purse in the backseat and a spoon white white residue was found in the middle console.

Pace was arrested and charged with child abuse and neglect, methamphetamine violations, simple possession, and unlawful drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $7,000.
