CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The list of Middle Tennessee’s top-earning businesses owned by women was recently released.
According to the Nashville Business Journal, trucking company Western Express tops the list that includes a diverse list of companies.
Clarksville’s Wyatt-Johnson car dealership is in the top 5 at number three. Owned by Katherine Cannata, the dealership has everything from Toyota to Buick-GMC. They’ve also recently acquired a Kia and Volkswagen franchise, so no signs of slowing down for Katherine.
Wyatt-Johnson is about 70 years old. In the 1940’s, her grandfather, who is the Wyatt of Wyatt-Johnson, started selling cars one at a time out of his own yard. Eventually her dad, the Johnson of Wyatt-Johnson, joined in and grew what you see here from the ground up.
Cannata joined in the family business in 1999 part-time in the accounting department but never thought she would follow in their footsteps until her dad’s passing she took over and continued his legacy.
But she says it’s not just her that contributes to making Wyatt-Johnson such a dominating car dealership in Middle Tennessee, it’s her supportive team of women and men that make it happen.
