CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A Clarksville woman has been sentenced to five years at the Tennessee Department of Corrections for vehicular homicide.
Phyllis L. Taylor, 53, was arrested and charged in September of 2014 with killing 22-year-old bicyclist Vince A. Freeman.
Freeman was riding his bicycle Sep. 22 at 12:30 a.m. on Tiny Town Rd. when Taylor hit him with her vehicle and fled the scene.
Taylor pleaded guilty on March 26 after originally denying that she was driving the vehicle that struck Freeman. Evidence and interviews confirmed that Taylor was the driver.
