CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A woman was robbed and assaulted in the parking lot of Wal-Mart on Fort Campbell Blvd. Tuesday around 8 p.m.

According to a police report, the victim said the suspect approached her car and stopped her from getting inside. He then allegedly entered the vehicle through the passenger side, grabbed her by the throat, and dumped her purse.

The victim told police the man stole $200 and a bottle of Roxycodone she had just gotten filled. The man exited the vehicle and the victim tried to chase him, but she said he slammed her to the ground and fled the scene in a maroon Mercury Grand Marquis.

The woman provided a description of the man and the vehicle for police, who located the car on Chateauroux Dr. The homeowner consented to a search of the home, where police found Charles Ellerbee sleeping in the laundry room and holding 10 green pills in his hand.

Ellerbee was taken in for questioning and later booked into the Montgomery County Jail. He was charged with robbery and held on a $75,000 bond.
