CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A woman was hit by a vehicle while riding a motorized bicycle on Riverside Dr. Wednesday, April 24.

Clarksville police said that the 48-year-old victim was hit by a Buick driven by a 63-year-old woman that was making a left turn from Northbound Riverside Dr into the Big Lots parking lot at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Crossland Avenue.

Police said the victim was riding in the bike lane at the time of the crash.

When the car hit the bicyclist, the rider was thrown from the bike and then hit the windshield of the car before falling to the ground.

The 48-year-old rider was taken by ambulance to a Nashville hospital in stable condition. The bicycle rider was wearing a protective helmet which is believed to prevent serious head injuries.

According to Clarksville police the driver of the Buick was cited for Fail to Use Reasonable Care.
