CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Police have identified the victim in a Monday night homicide as a Fort Campbell soldier.

Tabitha Collard, 26, who was stationed at Fort Campbell, was killed in the incident on Ringgold Road, according to Clarksville Police spokesman Scott Beaubien.

“It is believed that the second victim is responsible for the homicide and then attempted to take his own life,” Beaubien said. “CPD believes that there is no suspect at large and there is no threat to the community.”

The man’s identity has not been released. He was still in critical condition as of Wednesday, Beaubien said.

At about 5 p.m. Monday, police conducted a welfare check at the home in the 400 block of Ringgold and found Collard and the man with gunshot wounds. Collard was pronounced dead at the scene, and the man was flown by LifeFlight helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
