CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – One person has been hospitalized following a shooting Thursday on Cranklen Circle.
According to Lt. Steve Warren, police arrived at the scene around 12:48 p.m. and emergency personnel treated a women with gunshot wounds. The victim was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Her condition is unknown at this time.
Patrol officers stopped a vehicle with a Georgia license plate in the area of Cranklen Circle at 1:54 p.m. The driver, 27-year-old Malcolm Turner, has been named a suspect in the shooting. He is currently an active duty soldier stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado.
Detective Andrew Hurst, the lead investigator in the case, interviewed Turner at the District One Criminal Investigations building at 1885 Fort Campbell Boulevard and is currently preparing felony arrest warrants listing Turner as the defendant.
Turner and the victim had a previous relationship, according to police. The 22-year-old victim is currently listed in critical but stable condition. Her will not be released until next-of-kin are notified.
