CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A motorcycle rider injured in a critical wreck on Jan. 1 succumbed to his injuries on Jan. 7.
Harold Perry, 51, was fatally injured when his motorcycle was struck by a Jeep.
Arial Hummel, 38, who was traveling south in a Jeep Wrangler on Ft. Campbell Blvd., and Perry was riding his Victory motorcycle north in the center travel lane of Ft Campbell Blvd.
Hummel was making a left turn onto a private property and crossed into the path of the oncoming motorcycle. The motorcycle collided with the Jeep, ejecting Perry, who landed on the top of the rear tire and Jeep frame.
Hummel was taken to the Montgomery County Jail and initially charged with Driving Under the Influence. Her bond was set at $1,500 and she bonded out.
Hummel was again booked into the Montgomery County Jail and charged with vehicular homicide and failure to yield resulting in death/injury.
She is being held without a bond and a judge will determine her bond.
The first Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) call out of 2020 happened at about 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1 and has turned into the first fatality of 2020.
