CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A woman has been charged with felony murder in the death of Fort Campbell veteran Melissa Sue Napier (Woodruff).

Napier’s body was found in a rural area of Palmyra in December of 2015.

Jade Amanda Rose Breeden, 39, has been charged with felony murder in the death of Napier. She is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a bond of $500,000.

Investigators have not yet released information about a motive or Napier’s cause of death.

Melissa Napier

Napier was reported missing on December 8, 2015 by her brother. Her body was found by a hunter on December 10, 2015 in the 3000 block of Tarsus Road in Palmyra.

Napier, originally from New York, was an Army veteran. She served in the military for four and a half years and rose to the rank of an E-5 Sergeant. She completed two tours in Iraq working as a Chemical Operations Specialist.

She was 30 at the time of her death and leaves behind a young son.
