CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – New details about the shooting of a 38-year-old Clarksville man reveal that his wife, who has been charged with his death, was seen on home security video carrying a gun and a knife the day of the shooting.
Theary Lim, 32, has been charged with homicide. Her husband, Sothon In, was found dead in the couple’s home off of South Richview Road Monday night.
According to court records obtained by Clarksville Now, police responded at about 9:43 p.m. to the scene in the 2200 block of Ladd Drive. The call reported a possibly deceased person at the house.
Officers found the wife, Theary Lim, lying on the living room floor, breathing but unresponsive and with no injuries, the court records said. Police then found the husband, Sothon In, dead on the bedroom floor with a gunshot wound to the head.
Theary Lim was transported to Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville for treatment, but the court records do not specify the reason.
During the investigation by detectives with the Special Operations Homicide Unit and the Crime Scene Team, police discovered evidence inconsistent with Sothan In’s death being from self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Also at the residence, investigators found security video that showed Theary Lim at about 12:44 p.m. that afternoon – nine hours before police arrived – walking around the living room carrying what appears to be a semi-automatic handgun, the court records said.
Theary Lim then walks out of camera view in the area of the bedroom, and then re-enters camera view about 15 minutes later carrying the gun in the locked-back position, as well as what appears to be a knife, the court records said.
The firearm was found hidden under a dresser in the bedroom, and at no time did Theary Lim call police, the records said.
Theary Lim was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on Tuesday.
