CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A woman has been charged with DUI homicide in the wreck that killed her passenger on July Fourth weekend in 2022.

At 2:40 a.m. on July 3, 2022, Clarksville Police responded to a wreck with injuries on Dover Road at Charlemagne Boulevard, according to previous reports. A 2010 Chevrolet Malibu had run off the road and struck a metal utility pole near Charlemagne.

The female driver, Kasey Alana Wilkins, now 30, was critically injured. The male passenger, Mitchell Hersey, 32, of Clarksville, died from his injuries.

Prosecutors said the alcohol concentration in Wilkins’ blood was over the legal limit of .08% at the time, according to a Grand Jury indictment issued in December 2022.

Wilkins was booked into Montgomery County Jail on April 10 on vehicular homicide and DUI charges.
