CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A woman has been charged with DUI after destroying a bus shelter on Providence Blvd. on Christmas night.

Police responded to the crash Dec. 26 around 1:15 a.m. near The Mart on Providence Blvd. Officers said the driver of the gold Honda, 28-year-old Kristen Wright, hit the curb at the intersection of Providence Blvd. and Power Street, hit a street sign, and then drove through the parking lot of The Mart.

She then allegedly hit a fire hydrant, a bus stop sign, and crashed through a bus stop shelter before getting back onto the road.

Officer determined she had been drinking and performed field sobriety tests. Wright was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and violation of implied consent law.
