CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A Clarksville woman whose disabled son died in her home has been arrested on a charge of aggravated child abuse/neglect/endangerment in connection with his death.

On Tuesday, detectives with the Clarksville Police Special Operations Unit arrested 32-year-old Cheyenne Dawn Maddox in the death of her son, 13-year-old Kadaris Maddox.

On July 6, at approximately 1:10 p.m., officers responded to a call regarding a deceased child at 24 Virginia Terrace. When they arrived and saw the condition of the house and yard, authorities charged Maddox with five counts of child abuse and neglect, connected to the five other children in the home.

The lead investigator, Detective Bryan Hughes presented evidence to the August session of the Montgomery County Grand Jury and an indictment was issued for Cheyenne Maddox. She was taken into custody today and booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

“This is still an ongoing investigation and additional charges are still possible,” said CPD spokesman Scott Beaubien.
