CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A man was arrested after attempting to kidnap a woman at a gas station in Clarksville.

According to a report from the Clarksville Police Department (CPD), the victim told police she had pulled up to a gas station at 2100 Wilma Rudolph Blvd. March 19 around 11:45 a.m. to get gas.

Before she could exit her vehicle, a brown, older model pickup truck with camo prints around the doors pulled up next to her.

The victim described the driver as a white male between 25-30 years old. When the man honked his horn, the victim rolled down her window. She told police the man said “You’re pretty. Do you think I look good?” She replied by saying “I like your truck.”

The suspect then asked the victim if she wanted to go for a ride, and when she said no he exited his truck and walked to her window and reached in as she rolled up the window.

He then opened the door of her vehicle and grabbed the woman in an attempt to pull her out of the vehicle. The victim kicked the suspect and he let go and drove away in his truck.

The victim drove home and called police. The clerk at the gas station gave the same description of the man, but was unable to see the interaction.

Police searched the area for the pickup but were unable to initially locate it. According to Officer Natalie Hall with the Clarksville Police Department, the suspect, Garon Anthony Brown, 25, visited the same gas station the following day. He was arrested and charged with theft and criminal attempt.
