CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville woman has been arrested after allegedly attempting to rob a man at gunpoint who she had met online.
According to an arrest warrant, the victim said he met a woman online and agreed to meet her at the Winner’s Circle Motel on Fort Campbell Blvd.
When he arrived, he saw a woman standing outside the hotel room who was later identified as 19-year-old Britteny Mostella. She reportedly asked the man if he was there to see her friend, and when he said yes she told him to follow her.
The victim said he followed Mostella to the door of the room and at that point she allegedly turned around and pointed a silver handgun at the victim while demanding money.
The man told the woman he did not have cash but could get some from the bank, so Mostella ordered the victim to get in the passenger side of his vehicle. As Mostella was getting into the driver’s seat, the victim decided to flee.
The warrant says the man ran down Fort Campbell Blvd. while yelling, “she has a gun!”
The victim noticed that Mostella had thrown the keys of the vehicle and was running toward a room at the back of the motel.
Police located Mostella at the hotel and the victim identified her as the suspect.
Mostella admitted to seeing the man arrive, but claimed she never had any contact with him.
K-9 units searched the area and found the handgun allegedly used in the incident hidden nearby.
Mostella was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping. Her bond was set at $200,000.
