HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – Hopkinsville police arrested a woman Saturday, Nov. 16 after she hit a police car while driving the wrong way with no headlights.
According to a report from the Hopkinsville Police Department, Elizabeth Mangrum, 51, of Chapmansboro, TN, was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of Fort Campbell Blvd. with no headlights when an officer attempted to stop her. While the officer was outside his vehicle, Mangrum did not obey the officer’s commands to stop and she almost struck the officer. She continued moving forward and hit the police cruiser.
When the officer made contact with Mangrum, he said her speech was slurred and she appeared pale. She was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for blood and urine tests. She said she had taken Effexor, Hydrocodone, Lortabs, Klonopin, and wore a Fentanyl skin patch.
Mangrum was arrested driving under the influence, wanton endangerment, of a police officer, reckless driving, and failure to illuminate headlights. She was booked into the Christian County Jail with a $5,000 bond.
