NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Nashville woman was arrested Thursday after allegedly stealing a baseball bat from Walmart to smash a car in the parking lot.
WKRN News 2 reports that Monica Milam, 40, thought the vehicle was that of her ex-girlfriend and stole the bat to damage her car.
An officer saw Milam beating the car and when he approached her she threw the bat and ran.
An affidavit states that she stopped running and admitted to the theft. The real owner of the car arrived at the scene and told police he wanted to press charges.
The vehicle’s rear and side windows were broken out as well as the rear tail lights, totaling $600 worth of damage.
Milam as charged with theft and vandalism and her bond was set at $15,000.
