CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The National Weather Service says an early season winter storm looks to impact parts of the mid-state, including the Clarksville-Montgomery County area.
Areas in the advisory will see rain, sleet, snow, and possibly freezing rain Wednesday evening through late morning Thursday.
Snow accumulations look to be less than an inch for most of the advisory area, but sleet and freezing rain Wednesday night could possibly impact the morning commute Thursday morning. A light glaze of ice is expected.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Wednesday through noon Thursday. A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
A Winter Storm Watch has also been issued for the following counties in Kentucky Wednesday night into Thursday morning:
Todd County
Christian County
Caldwell County
Trigg County
Lyon County
Heavy mixed precipitation is expected with total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch possible.
