CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville Parks and Recreation and Cumberland Bank & Trust are excited to announce the winners of the 2016 Queen City Road Race Art Contest.

Congratulations to Kayli Rhodes, First Place winner and 5th grade student at Montgomery Central Elementary. Kayli’s artwork will be featured on the 2016 official Queen City Road Race T-shirt and event poster. Along with that honor, Kayli received $100, an art kit and framed poster of her winning artwork. In addition, her art class received $100 and a Subway party.

Second Place winner Maddie Holt, 5th grade student at East Montgomery Elementary, received $50 and was awarded a certificate, art kit and a Subway party for her art class.

Third Place winner Ava Biter, 1st grade student at Clarksville Christian School, received $25 and was awarded a certificate, art kit and a Subway party for her art class.

The presenting sponsor of the Queen City Road Race, Cumberland Bank & Trust, plays a large role in not only the race but the art contest as well. “We are proud to sponsor the Queen City Road Race. As sponsor, we really enjoy seeing the t-shirt designs the children come up with,” said Tirzah Tucker of Cumberland Bank & Trust.

“Congratulations to everyone who entered the contest, especially the winners,” said Mayor Kim McMillan. “I also want to thank Cumberland Bank & Trust and the Parks and Recreation Department for their creative approach to getting more students involved.”

The 38th Annual Queen City Road Race will take place Saturday, May 7th at 8:00 a.m. The event will include a 5K, 10K, and One Mile Movement. Registration kicks off February 17, 2016.
