Winfred Powell, 83, of Adams, TN, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015, at Gateway Medical Center.
Winfred was born on January 31, 1932, in the Oak Plains Community of Montgomery County, TN to the late Jessie Powell and Mabel Clair Hunter Powell. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Zola Powell and sister, Geneva Giles.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Excell Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Madewell officiating. Burial will be in Living Hope Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015, from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home and Sunday, October 18, 2015, from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the church.
Winfred was a retired school teacher with the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. He was a member of Excell Baptist Church.
Winfred is survived by two sons, Robert Wayne Powell (Renee) of Shelbyville, TN and David Powell (Becky) of Adams, TN; daughter, Pam Powell Smiley (Mat) of Adams, TN; brother, Billy Ray Powell (Binky) of Adams, TN; brother-in-law, Howard Giles; and five grandchildren, Jordan, Janzen, Joel, Travis, and Arya.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Pitts, Nick Meriwether, Tim Giles, Mat Smiley, Jordan Powell, and Joel Powell.
