CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Winter Storm Warning expired at 9 a.m. but is followed by a Wind Chill Advisory in effect through Friday morning.

(CMCSS will remain closed Friday. More school closings here.)

Meteorologist Mark Rose with the National Weather Service in Nashville says anyone outside over the next 24 hours will be in danger of frost bite or hypothermia.

LOCAL CLOSINGS

“Minimum wind chill factor overnight is going to be around -5. It will be during the coldest part of the day, late tonight, or early morning around sunrise,” he said.

Temperatures will continue to drop throughout the day Thursday into the single digits and will only climb to highs in the 20s Friday. No more accumulation is expected.

“If there is any sunshine during the afternoon that’ll help, but the high is only going to be 24, so don’t expect a lot of melting,” Rose said.

Roads will likely remain hazardous through Friday.

Conditions may improve by Saturday as temperatures reach the mid 40s.
