CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Along with the rain we’re expecting tonight, we’ll have heavy wind, with gusts that could reach 55 mph.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for all of Middle Tennessee from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 3 p.m. Wednesday.

“Strong, gusty winds up to 40 to 55 mph are expected which could blow down scattered trees and power lines, as well as cause some power outages,” according to the National Weather Service.

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle, the NWS said. Secure outdoor objects.

After the rain, we could see some snow. A mix of light rain and light snow showers are possible across Middle Tennessee from Wednesday evening through Thursday evening, but little to no accumulation is expected in Montgomery County.

Today: Increasing clouds, with a high near 50. South southeast wind around 5 mph.

Tonight: A chance of rain or sprinkles before 11pm, then rain, mainly between 11pm and 5am. Low around 39. East wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Wednesday: A 40 percent chance of rain, mainly before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 51. Windy, with a southeast wind 15 to 25 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

Wednesday night: A slight chance of rain before 4am, then a slight chance of rain and snow. Cloudy, with a low around 33. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday: A slight chance of rain and snow before 10am, then a slight chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday night: A chance of rain before 8pm, then a chance of flurries between 8pm and 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. West wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
