CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – After dropping their last five games, Clarksville Academy got back on track two weeks ago, pulling out a 21-14 victory over Tipton-Rosemark Academy.

The Cougars looked to string together back-to-back wins for the second time this season on Thursday, Oct. 24 as they traveled to Columbia Academy.

The inability to eliminate the big play and an untimely miscue on special teams spelled disaster for Clarksville Academy who allowed 21 unanswered fourth-quarter points and fell 35-14.

The Cougars trailed early as Columbia Academy hooked up for a 79-yard passing touchdown.

The offensive action would fall silent until Deiondre Wilson set up the Cougars first score of the game midway through the second quarter, taking a reverse 50 yards deep into Bulldog territory.

Early in the fourth quarter, Columbia Academy answered back on a quarterback sneak to go back out in front 14-7.

Wilson later put life back into the Cougar crowd with a kick-return touchdown, tying the game back up at 14-all with 10 minutes left to play in the contest.

On 4th and 24, trailing 21-14 the Cougars were forced to punt. A botched attempt then resulted in 1st and goal for the Bulldogs who punched it in a few players later, extending their lead to 28-14 late in the game.

Clarksville Academy (3-6, 1-6) hosts University School of Jackson Friday, Nov. 1 to close out the season.
