William “Glenn” Varble, age 77 of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Tennessee State Veterans Home.
Glenn was born January 26, 1947, in Owensboro, KY to the late William Jack Varble and Rebecca Jane Pruden Varble. Glenn is also preceded by his wife, Nancy Staats Varble.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife, Robbie Sue Varble; son, Jeffery “Jeff” Varble; daughter, Sharlie (Mike) Irby, Vicky (Randy) Slayton, Karen (Ed) Ritter, and Kim (Lee) Barnette; brother, Paul (Georgia) Varble; sisters, Bonnie Sawyer and Lesa Varble; Grandchildren, Brian and Chris.
Glenn served his country with the United States Army in Vietnam and was Honorably discharged as a Sergeant (E-5). Glenn continued to serve his community with Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home with over 40 years of dedicated service. Glenn was a member of Grace Community Church and Masonic Lodge #89. Glenn will be missed for his lively and generous spirit, and you never saw Glenn without a smile.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral home with Rev. Jamie Mandrell officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00-3:00 PM Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home. Burial to follow directly after the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Clarksville, TN.
The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for their care, love and support over the last several months. Appreciation goes out to the staff at Tennessee State Veterans Home for the care and attention provided to Glenn.
