William Edward Hawkins, of Clarksville, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the age of 95.
William was born on October 19, 1928, to the late Samuel Hawkins and Flora Riggins. William is also preceded in death by his brothers, Rudolph Hawkins and Wayne Hawkins, and sisters, Christine Perry and Earlene Hawkins.
William is survived by his wife, Grace Jones Hawkins, sons, Mark (Nancy) Hawkins, and Sam (Jody) Hawkins, three stepchildren, five grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and three step great-great-grandchildren.
William served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II and later worked for the US Postal Service as the Supervisor at the Fort Campbell Post Office. William was a member of First Baptist Church, served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher, also serving as the Sunday School Superintendent.
A Graveside service will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Sam Hawkins officiating.
