William E. “Bill” Byard, Sr., 72, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Tennova Healthcare of Clarksville.
Bill was born on May 23, 1943, in Montgomery County, TN to the late Samuel Leonard Byard, Sr. and Millie Kentner Byard. He is also preceded in death by his brother, John R. Byard.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel, with Rhett Clements officiating. Burial will be in Sango Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. and Thursday, March 24, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Bill was retired from The Trane Company. He loved his family dearly, was a member of Brewer’s Chapel United Methodist Church, an award winning rabbit breeder, and an Atlanta Braves fan.
Bill is survived by his wife, Shelia Farmer Byard of Clarksville, TN; two sons, William E. Byard, Jr. and Jeremy (Lisa) Byard of Clarksville, TN; three daughters, Lynette Sissy Byard Taylor, Crystal (Ray) Rice of Clarksville, TN, and Tammy Rae (Scott) Cowan of Hopkinsville, KY; two brothers, Joe Byard of Clarksville, TN and Leonard Byard, Jr. of Hall Summit, LA; sister, Rebecca Hogue of Clarksville, TN; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be William E. Byard, Jr., Jeremy Byard, Blake Cowan, Zachary Taylor, Ray Rice, and John Farmer.
