William “Bill” Daniel Barlar, Sr., 83, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
William was born on December 19, 1932, in Pulaski, TN to the late Floyd J. Barlar and Lois South Barlar. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jack Ray Barlar; brother, Floyd Garland Barlar; and sister, Johnnie Sue Jones.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stewart Salyer officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home and Saturday, September 17, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the church.
William was a retired District Manager for Big K and Walmart. After retirement from Walmart, William founded Sango Knife Company. He was a member and elder at Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
William is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol Tinnon Barlar of Clarksville, TN; two sons, Paul R. Barlar (Gail) of Franklin, TN and William Daniel “Dan” Barlar, Jr. of Clarksville, TN; daughter, Kathy Barlar Ellis (Rusty) of Clarksville, TN; five grandchildren, William Clay Barlar (Courtney), Chase Cole Barlar, Jake Henley Barlar, Eric Edward Ellis (Megan), and Evan Daniel Ellis (Lacey); and five great-grandchildren, Evie Ellis, Emmie Ellis, Tobie Ellis, Allie Ellis, and Kate Ellis; and his constant companion and shadow, Teco (Chihuahua).
Pallbearers will be Eric Ellis, Evan Ellis, Will Barlar, Chase Barlar, Ryan Hester, David Baker, Ray Bellar, and Gwen Connor. Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Barlar and members of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class of Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
