CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Don’t you wish more people knew about your favorite charity organization in Clarksville? Don’t you wish you had a way to help them raise money?

You can do both through the fifth annual Clarksville’s Best contest by nominating your favorites in the Best Nonprofit Organization category. Best of all, it’s free to enter, free to vote and free to win!

How it works, what they win

The Nonprofit Organization category, listed under Services, is open to any local nonprofit organization, foundation or service club that has 501(c)(3) status. Once the nominations are in, voting will begin, and local nonprofits will compete to be named Clarksville’s Best, as voted on by readers here at home.

The top two Nonprofit Organization vote-getters will get promotion in the upcoming Clarksville’s Best magazine about the good they do in the community, and we’ll encourage people to donate.

But it doesn’t end there: The gold star winner will receive $24,000 in free advertising from 5 Star Media Group. The silver star winner will get $12,000 in advertising.

Last year’s gold star winner was Mikaela’s Mutt Motel; the silver star winner was Puurrrfect Paws Rescue & Cafe. To make sure we spread the love, the gold star winner isn’t eligible to win gold again for three years.

In addition to the nonprofits category, you can nominate the top restaurants, shops, agencies and more.

This contest includes over 160 categories in nine voting groups: Eat & Drink, Education, Health & Beauty, Home & Garden, Motors, Real Estate, Services, Shopping and Things to Do. To see the full list of categories and make your nominations, go to this site.

Nominations end July 24, and then the real fun begins, with voting July 31-Aug. 14. The contest is free to enter and free to win. Winners will be announced Nov. 13 and printed in a special full-size magazine for distribution in all the winners’ locations.
