CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville area Chamber of Commerce welcomed executive members of Whataburger for a groundbreaking at one of their four new locations, 599 Fire Station Road.

Whataburger’s field marketing coordinator for Tennessee, Courtney Vick, told Clarksville Now they are excited to expand their business in Clarksville, especially with the city being the home of Austin Peay State University and Fort Campbell.

Whataburger plans to bring its Charitable Giving Pillar program to the community, teaming up with organizations involving education from pre-school through adult education programs.

Jay Cox, operations leader for Whataburger, said the company strives to involve students in its work force.

“Whether it be parents of students, or students that are actually (at) their first job; we’re able to establish ourselves as an employer of choice, because of how we are able to get involved in the community locally.”

Cox said during his speech that they are hoping to have all four Clarksville locations, and a Springfield location, open within 12 to 18 months.

The four Clarksville locations are:

  • 791 N. Second St., the old Shoney’s location
  • 599 Fire Station Road, across MLK Parkway from Freddy’s
  • 1800 Fort Campbell Blvd., next to Taco John’s
  • 1602 Haynes Road, former IHOP location
