Hopkinsville, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Western Kentucky State Fair (WKSF) Board announced Wednesday that the 2020 Western Kentucky State Fair, originally scheduled for June 26-July 4, 2020, has been postponed.
“With the current threat of COVID-19, the health and safety of our residents and visitors was the main consideration for our decision to postpone the Western Kentucky State Fair this year,” said Preston Rives, WKSF Board president. “We know this event is the highlight of summer for so many families, and we did not take this decision lightly.”
Rives also noted that the hope is to reschedule the fair for later this year, once there is a better picture of the regulations associated with safely holding the event.
The WKSF, which includes events such as a tractor pull, demolition derby, pageants, professional wrestling, concerts and more has been held since the 1950s.
