CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The West Creek Coyotes took a trip to Exit 11 for an opening night matchup with the Clarksville Wildcats. While it was a 2-point game at halftime, the Coyotes exploded for a 56-point half in the second to pull out a 91-57 road win on opening night, powered by a 33-point performance from junior guard Kameron Bowers.
Early on, both teams traded blows, with Trey Youngs hitting a 3 at the end of the half to cut the Coyote lead to 2. However the Coyotes came out of the half hungry, going on a 25-5 run in the third quarter, mostly due to points off turnovers.
“We’re a young team, and we don’t have experienced ball handlers,” said Wildcats head coach Ted Young. “Defensively we played well enough, they just didn’t miss shots.”

For the Coyotes, it’s a huge start to the season with a cross-town blowout. West Creek is seeking to win back-to-back district championships for the first time in program history after winning their first since 2011 last season.
“We locked in and communicated defensively, and that led to success,” said Coyote head coach Matthew Hardaway. “Bowers is starting to leave his stamp here in the city. We have a long season, we just have to stay focused on the task at hand.”
