CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – West Creek High’s Brock Budesheim has been named the recipient of the TSSAA Girls’ Wrestling Coach of the Year Award following a historic season with the Coyotes.

“Being selected as the TSSAA Girls’ Wrestling Coach of the Year is truly a tremendous honor,” Budesheim said. “I’m not originally from Tennessee, so being included among a long list of legendary wrestling coaches from this great state is a real privilege. None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of the parents and administration at West Creek High School, as well as the local community.”

The West Creek High girls’ wrestling team had a fantastic year, earning the highest team score at the TSSAA State Championships in February for a team championship, along with two individual state champions, in Mariana Bowen and Irelyn Lauren. For Budesheim, this award is about the entire staff and his top-tier program.

“I’d like to thank my assistant coaches: Robert McAvoy, Roseanna Vaughn, Jesus Avila, Juan Gutierrez-Arroyo, and Jenn Binkley. It truly takes a village to make great things happen for these wrestlers, and these coaches help lay the foundation, day in and day out,” said Budesheim. “This isn’t an award for one person—it’s another mark in the history books for the entire West Creek High School family. Trust the process.”
