CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – We are entering an exciting time of the year for golfers in the Clarksville area. The Clarksville Golf Association’s 2026 season is getting underway this weekend with its first event, the Wendy’s Invitational at The River Club.

This season will feature six qualifying events leading up to the Mann, Smith & Cummings Tournament of Champions on Sept. 12th and 13th. Each event winner automatically qualifies for the Tournament of Champions and points will be accrued throughout the season for the remaining spots.

The Wendy’s Invitational is one of the most anticipated events in Clarksville golf. The event partners local Wendy’s restaurants and Austin Peay, with all proceeds benefitting the Austin Peay men’s golf program. This partnership has been in place for more than 25 years and has featured some of Clarksville’s most talented golfers.

In 2025’s Wendy’s Invitational, Richie Head was the open champion, Chuck Wallace was the senior champion, and Greg Guinn was the super senior champion.

The 2026 event will also feature several prizes. $25,000 is the prize for a hole-in-one on holes three and 12, while vacations are the prizes for hole-in-ones on holes 7 and 16. There will be additional hole contest prizes and golfer goodie bags as well.

The entry fee for the Wendy’s Invitational at The River Club is $135 per player, and two-golfer pairs are required. A partner champion will be awarded as well as an individual champion. Registration opens on Saturday, May 16th, at 6:30 a.m., while assigned tee times start at 7:00 a.m. To register online, go here.
