CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – As the summer nights are coming to an end, and the 20th anniversary of 9/11 falls upon us, there are different ways you can celebrate your life and your country this weekend.
City of Clarksville 9/11 Ceremony: There will be a remembrance ceremony from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at Clarksville Fire Rescue’s main station on 802 Main St.
All Shook Up at The Roxy: Loosely based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, this musical fantasy will include such classics as “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Hound Dog,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Don’t Be Cruel.” Come see it on Saturday and Sunday at various times. Tickets are $35 for adults, $15 for kids 10 and under.
Sevier Day Celebration: Enjoy this fun free educational event where you’ll learn about and see firsthand blacksmithing, flint knapping, woodworking, Native American, and frontier reenactors. It’ll be at the Fort Defiance Civil Park on Saturday from 10-3 p.m.
Summer at Beachaven: On Saturday from 4-7 p.m., Jim Gibson will be playing music at the winery. Zander’s Pizza will be there with food to purchase. On Sunday, Rachel McCamy will be playing music from 1-4 p.m., and Tacos Azteca will be there with the eats.
Old Glory Friday Night Live: Entry is $5, and doors open at 6. Tina Brown will be playing music from 7-10 p.m.
Wyld Paint Party: On Saturday night at the Warehouse Lounge & Concert Center, there will be an 18+ celebration filled with foam and paint. Prices vary between $20 and $100, more information here.
