CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – From music and theater to volunteer opportunities, there is plenty to do this weekend in Clarksville.
The Surrender of Clarksville: Fort Defiance Interpretive Center will host a living history event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 to commemorate the surrender of Fort Defiance to Union soldiers in 1862. The event will include activities and live demonstrations.
Harry Potter Trivia Night: Ravenwood Coffee invites wizards and muggles alike for Harry Potter trivia on Friday, February 21, from 3 p.m-11 p.m. Corrects answers could earn discounts on drinks.
The Cumberland Winds celebrate Black History Month: Sunday, February 23, The Cumberland Winds will perform at the Roxy, celebrating the musical influence of African culture in The Americas and the Caribbean.
Governor’s Honor Festival: APSU’s Honor Orchestra Festival and Honor Band will perform together at the inaugural Governors Honor Festival this weekend. The event began Thursday, February 20, and runs until Saturday, February 22, at 5 p.m in the Music/Mass Communication Building.
Habitat Community-Service Day: Habitat for Humanity invites volunteers to join them at Habitat ReStore on Madison Street this Saturday, February 22, from 10 a.m-4 p.m. Participants are asked to wear comfortable shoes and work clothes. This event counts as community service hours.
Movies at the Library: The Montgomery-County Public Library invites families to join them for a free showing of ‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,’ this Sunday, February 23, at 2 p.m. Popcorn will be provided.
Be You! Youth Talent Night: Governors Square Mall and the I am Invisible Bullying & Suicide Organization will hold a talent show at the mall on Saturday, February 22, from 6-7 p.m. All talents are welcome. Click here to register.
Polar Plunge: “You’ll be Freezin’ for a Reason” on Saturday, February 22 at Austin Peay’s Foy Center Pool. Registration opens at 10 a.m. with the first plunge at 11:00. More than 50 brave souls have already signed up to take the plunge.
Nashville Shakespeare Festival presents ‘Macbeth’: The Nashville Shakespeare Festival brings their Winter Shakespeare production of ‘Macbeth’ to Montgomery Central High School for a public performance on Friday, February 21 at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.
