CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)-  The National Weather Services has forecast up to an inch of snow possible for the Clarksville area Tuesday.

Meteorologist Sam Herron with the National Weather Service in Nashville says they are expecting 0.5 to 1 inch of snow to move into the area adding that rain will transition into a wintry mix with snow tapering off Tuesday night.

“As far as travel goes the good news is that ground temperatures have been warm and it’s going to take some time for the air temperature to fall so during the daytime not a lot of problems. The troubles might come as it gets dark and temperatures start to drop, in the late afternoon and evening, we could see some slick spots,” said Herron.

While there is good confidence in the timing, total snowfall amounts can and may change over the next 24-36 hours. If you have travel plans in Middle TN on Tuesday and Tuesday night, please stay tuned for the latest updates!
