CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – We could see up to 1 inch of rain out of heavy storms that will start overnight in Montgomery and surrounding counties.
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect from 1 a.m. Wednesday through Wednesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
An inch of rainfall is expected, with local amounts of 2 inches possible.
“This will combine with copious rainfall amounts which have fallen in the past day,” the NWS said. “Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.”
The storm could also bring damaging winds and tornadoes, will large hail possible.
Behind that line of storms is another round of rain, arriving between 5 and 11 p.m. Wednesday, bringing up to another inch of rain, for 2 inches from tonight through Thursday afternoon.
