CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Strong thunderstorms are moving across Middle Tennessee this evening.

At 6:04 p.m., radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Tennessee Ridge to 11 miles southeast of Bruceton, according to the National Weather Service. Movement was east at 45 mph, heading toward south Montgomery County, through 7 p.m.

The storm could bring winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail. “Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible,” the NWS said.

As storms continue tonight, damaging wind gusts are the main threat, however there will also be multiple periods of heavy rain. This could lead to localized flooding issues in Montgomery County.
