Update, 4:12 p.m.: The Flash Flood Warning for southwestern Montgomery County has been extended until 10 p.m.

At 4:11 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. “Flash flooding is ongoing and water rescues have been reported by area emergency management,” the NWS said.

Update, 3:50 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect through 7 p.m.

Update, 2 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for southeastern Montgomery County until 2:45 p.m.

At 2 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 13 miles southwest of Clarksville to 10 miles north of Dickson, moving northeast at 30 mph.

Update, 1:30 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for southwestern Montgomery County, along with southeastern Stewart and Houston Count

At 1:13 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 8 miles west of Tennessee Ridge to Waverly, moving northeast at 35 mph. Possible hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and nickel-size hail. Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

In addition, a Flash Flood Warning has been issued for southwestern Montgomery County and nearby areas until 4:30 p.m. There are thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain has fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Montgomery and nearby counties through 7 p.m.

A Watch from the National Weather Service means that conditions are right for a thunderstorm to form. If a thunderstorm is indicated on radar, a Warning will be issued. Possible threats include hail up to 2 inches, wind gusts up to 70 mph and lightning.
