A Tornado Watch means that conditions are right for a tornado to form. If a tornado is spotted or indicated on radar, a Tornado Warning will be issued.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – There’s a risk of strong thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight in Montgomery County, and a greater risk on Thursday ahead of an approaching cold front.

“The primary threats are going to be damaging straight-line winds and isolated tornadoes,” according to the National Weather Service. “There is a better chance of severe storms on Thursday along and ahead of a cold front that will sweep across the mid-state during the afternoon.

“There is an increased risk of damaging straight-line winds and isolated tornadoes on Thursday. Heavy downpours could also lead to localized flooding,” the NWS said.
