CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – With a heat index expected today of up to 104 degrees, a Heat Advisory has been issued for Montgomery and surrounding counties.
The advisory from the National Weather Service is in effect from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.

A high of 99 degrees is expected in Clarksville, with the heat index up to 104. Surrounding areas could see up to 108.
Because of the heat, tonight’s Movies in the Park event at Liberty Park has been canceled, according to Clarksville Parks & Recreation.
Due to the extreme heat, Movies in the Park for this evening (July 23) has been canceled.

“Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur,” the NWS said.
“Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.”
