Update, 4 p.m.: The Flash Flood Watch for Montgomery and surrounding counties has been canceled. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat, according to the NWS.

Update, 11 a.m.: Dickson County is under a Flash Flood Warning, meaning flash flooding is imminent or occurring.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Montgomery and surrounding counties through this evening.

Thunderstorms today will bring 1 to 2 inches of rain across the area, but a sudden 3 to 4 inches could be possible in some areas, which could cause flash flooding, according to the NWS alert.

“The main area of concern is anywhere west of the Cumberland Plateau, but especially along the Kentucky/Tennessee state line,” the alert said.
