CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Heat indexes could top 110 degrees in Middle Tennessee Tuesday and Wednesday; an Extreme Heat Warning has been issued through Wednesday at 8 p.m.

The high Tuesday and Wednesday in Clarksville should be 95, with a heat index of 109, according to the National Weather Service.

“Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors,” the NWS said.

  • Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 95. Heat index values as high as 109. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon.
  • Tuesday night: Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 74. North northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
  • Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Sunny, with a high near 95. Heat index values as high as 109. Calm wind becoming east northeast around 5 mph.
  • Wednesday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 76. Calm wind.
