CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Two men brandished weapons in a recent road rage incident in Clarksville.
According to an arrest warrant, a witness told police he saw two vehicles battle for the right-of-way at a merging point on Highway 41A South.
When officers arrived, both men had gotten out of their vehicles. Sean Holcom was standing near the driver’s side door of his vehicle holding a large wooden stick in his hand. The other man, Jeffrey Lawrence Larsen, was holding a handgun and pointing it at Holcom.
Larsen told police that Holcom grabbed the wooden stick and approached his truck, at which point Larsen took aim with his gun and told the man to go back to his car. Larsen said this was when the officer arrived at the scene.
The witness said he did not know which man had approached the other first.
Police said Larsen immediately cleared his weapon and placed the gun on the hood of the truck.
Neither party said they felt assaulted, but both said they were angry about the merging incident.
The officer determined that Larsen did not have a valid carry permit. His weapon was seized and he was cited with unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon.
Both men were released at the scene.
