CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Annual Warrior Week Eternal Flame Ceremony was held Friday, May 6 on Public Square in downtown Clarksville. The ceremony includes laying a wreath at the base of the eternal flame monument, a 21-Gun Salute and the playing of taps.

Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett and City of Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan were joined in the laying of the wreath by Acting Senior Commander of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Brigadier General Scott Brower. General Brower talked about the support shown Fort Campbell by the community.

“The support you provide to us every day is truly felt and truly appreciated. You have my utmost appreciation for that. Thank you very much for giving us this honor and attention on this day for we truly know it is there each and every day,” Brower said.

The Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee Warrior Week Celebration honors all local military men and women along with their families with three days of free events and activities.

The Warrior Week Car, Truck & Bike Show takes place Saturday, May 7 at Heritage Park in Clarksville from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. At 2 p.m. it’s the Tobacco Stick Softball Game, also at Heritage Park, as Clarksville-Montgomery County takes on Fort Campbell.
