CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville man was charged with animal cruelty this week after he allegedly abandoned a puppy near a dumpster. The puppy later died.
According to an arrest warrant, an officer found the puppy near a dumpster and determined the puppy possibly belonged to 24-year-old Lucas Foley.
The officer approached Foley, who admitted to dumping it and identified it as his through a photo, according to the officer’s statement.
Montgomery County Animal Care and Control Director Jeanette Farrell said Foley confessed to the alleged crime to her on the phone, as well as to the officer and personnel at a vet clinic.
Foley was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals. His bond was set at $1,000.
