A resident who purchased a bunk bed on Craigslist tells Clarksvillenow.com that it was infested with bedbugs and now someone has carried it off from the McClardy subdivision unknowingly.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, Bed bugs (Cimex lectularius) are small, flat, parasitic insects that feed solely on the blood of people and animals while they sleep.

The homeowner, who asked to remain anonymous, said she discovered the parasites once the bed was set up in her children’s bedroom at their home on Jared Ray Drive.

“We set it outside up against a fence and were about the take it to the dump when we discovered someone had taken it,” she said. “This has already cost us over $1,000 and I don’t want anyone else to have to go through that.”
