CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Christmas Eve is a special time for those in need thanks to Radical Mission Compassionate Ministries’ Warm Souls Christmas.

Because of concerns about COVID-19, once again this year’s event will be held outside in the parking lot between the Dunn Center and Fortera Stadium at Austin Peay State University, Friday, Dec. 24 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Just as last year, it is a drive-thru and walk-thru event and is supported by the Clarksville Transit System, which will be offering free rides to APSU on CTS buses from the Transit Center and bus stops across the city.

This is the 14th year for Warm Souls Christmas, which offers support and hope for hundreds of homeless and others struggling in the community who would otherwise not have a Christmas celebration. In 2020, the event served more than 400 families.

Jon Vaughn with Radical Mission said Warm Souls is open to anybody in the Clarksville, Fort Campbell and Hopkinsville community. It’s for anyone who is looking for a little bit of Christmas and those looking for somewhere to spend a little bit of Christmas. It’s for low-income, no-income, and for those who are alone during the holidays.

Everything at Warm Souls Christmas is free, which will include food as well as ingredients for guests to take and prepare meals, adult sweatshirts, cold weather items, children’s toys and gifts, along with crafts and activities that will be handed out.

Radical Mission is seeking volunteers again this year. Individuals or businesses interested in volunteering, or making a donation, are encouraged to visit radicalmission.org/warm-souls or go to facebook.com/Radical Mission.
